ClearSpace Support

Help for ClearSpace Android 1.5.3 with screenshot scanning, permissions, review-first cleanup, purchases, and restore behavior.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does ClearSpace upload my photos or videos?

No. All media analysis happens on your device. ClearSpace does not upload your photos or videos, use cloud processing, or include analytics and tracking SDKs.

What does the free version include?

The free version includes unlimited scanning, full results review, manual review tools, and moving up to 50 selected items per month to trash.

What is included in ClearSpace Pro?

ClearSpace Pro includes unlimited deletion allowance, swipe review mode, faster review tools, the home screen widget, advanced filters, similar and burst groups, advanced quality analysis, chat media detection, large or old video cleanup, and priority support. Available purchase options and prices are shown in the app before checkout.

Why is ClearSpace asking for photo and video access?

Android requires these permissions so ClearSpace can scan and display duplicates, similar photos, quality issues, screenshots, visible chat media, and large or old videos. Your media remains on your device.

Does ClearSpace scan all files on my phone?

No. ClearSpace uses scoped Android media permissions for photos and videos. It does not request All files access and does not scan arbitrary documents, APKs, cache files, or app-private folders.

Which chat apps can ClearSpace detect?

ClearSpace looks for common visible chat media folders such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and KakaoTalk. Android permissions and device storage rules control which folders are visible to the app.

Why are some duplicates or blurry photos not detected?

Automated detection is not perfect. Results can vary based on image format, lighting, motion blur, edits, compression, grouping thresholds, and media access limits. Review suggestions before removing anything important.

Can I recover removed media?

Use the five-second undo immediately when available. On Android 11 and later, ClearSpace uses Android system trash confirmation, so Android or your gallery app may keep removed items in Trash for a limited time. On Android 10 and below, removal may use direct deletion. The in-app Trash screen is not a complete restore manager, so keep backups of important media.

Can I finish swipe review before the last item?

Yes. After you review at least one item, the Finish action lets you submit only the items you marked for deletion. Back navigation cancels the current swipe review session without applying choices.

How do I disable cleanup reminders?

Turn off monthly cleanup reminders in ClearSpace settings, or disable ClearSpace notifications in Android settings.

How do I restore a Pro purchase?

Open the ClearSpace Pro screen and select Restore Purchase while signed in to the Google Play account used for the original purchase.

How do I delete ClearSpace's local data?

Open Android Settings -> Apps -> ClearSpace -> Storage -> Clear data, or uninstall the app. This removes local settings, scan history, reminder state, and local trash metadata.

Still need help?

Include your device model, Android version, and a short description of the issue. For scan or deletion issues, include the cleanup category you were using and whether Android showed a trash confirmation prompt.
